Amsterdam’s Pedal Power drives Sustainable Commuting

Amsterdam is a city that is leading the charge in sustainability. With over two-thirds of its workers and students choosing to ride bicycles for their daily commute and less than 20% opting to drive, it's no surprise that Amsterdam was recently ranked as the fifth most eco-friendly city in the world for workers by British Business Energy.

But Amsterdam's sustainability efforts don't stop there. The city has set ambitious goals to reduce its CO2 emissions by 55% by 2030 and an impressive 95% by 2050. To achieve this, Amsterdam has committed to phasing out the use of natural gas by 2040 and transitioning to emission-free road and water transport within the next decade. Additionally, Amsterdam is striving to power 80% of its residences with sustainable energy sources by 2030.

These impressive goals show that Amsterdam is truly dedicated to becoming a more environmentally-friendly city, and serves as an example for other cities around the world to follow.
